What to Expect During an Eye Exam

Then, you’ll complete a series of eye tests, including a visual acuity test and a refraction assessment. The latter usually requires the use of dilation drops to allow the optometrist to take a better look at what’s going on. Since the dilation may take several hours to wear off, be sure to bring a pair of sunglasses with you.
