Having an eye exam is vital to your overall health no matter what age you are. Our exams will not only help you see better but also take a look at your eye’s health and possibly a deeper look into your eyes with the dilation process. When we drop in a dilating solution, your pupils will open wider and allow us to see better into the inner parts of your eyes. If we do recommend dilating drops, you should have another driver on-hand as it can be hard to drive with the sensitivity to light that can occur when your eyes are dilated. We will be looking for any signs of eye conditions or diabetes as we perform your eye exam. 

Your school-age children should receive an eye exam every year, so that they are good to go for the school year. Preschool children need to have their eyes looked at around 1 year old and 3 years old as well. If you wear glasses or contacts, we need to see you every year too, so that we can check on any vision changes and provide you with the best prescription. If you do not wear glasses or contacts, you can visit us every 2 years if there are no concerns. But after the age of 45 when health conditions can surface, you should have your eyes examined annually once again.
